15th Anniversary Celebration of the Reconstruction of the Cape St. George Light
December 16, 2023 @ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
The St. George Lighthouse Association (SGLA) is honored to announce that it will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary of the reconstruction of the Cape St. George Light on December 16, 2023, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Main Firehouse, 324 East Pine Avenue, St. George Island, Florida. This milestone event is dedicated to all the people and organizations, local and abroad, that donated their time, hard work, and funds to rebuild our lighthouse and restore it to its original splendor. We will offer free lighthouse climbs all day and there will be an evening celebration.
The evening affair will feature a short ceremony of keynote speakers, Carol Talley, lighthouse historian and former gift shop manager, Skip and Terry Kemp, Retired SGLA Officers and Board Members, SGLA Board President Chuck Lombardo, and Amy Hodson, St. George Lighthouse Association Executive Director. Following the ceremony, there will be a reception, with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
In conjunction with our celebration, we have launched a 15th Anniversary fundraising campaign to raise $15,000. This campaign will have a transformative impact on our ability to maintain and improve our beautiful lighthouse, museum and gift shop, as well as expand our services. Help us raise 15K for 15 years and keep our light shining bright! Donate today at www.memberplanet.com/s/sgla/15thanniversary
We hope you will join us to celebrate this milestone for our lighthouse and the herculean effort by so many to restore the lighthouse to its former glory as a beacon to all that visit St. George Island. This event is partially funded by the Franklin County TDC.
